We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our GCSE Class of 2026, whose hard work, perseverance and positive attitude have resulted in an excellent set of examination results.

Throughout their time at William Farr School, this year group has shown tremendous commitment to their studies and to the wider life of the school. Their success is a reflection of the effort they have invested over many years, supported by staff and their families who have encouraged them along the way. They should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.

Particular congratulations go to the following students, who achieved an average grade of 8 or above, placing them amongst the top 12% of students nationally: Michelle Ajayi-Bello; Libby Hill; Sophie Hotchkin; Cody Holderness; Max Ardouin; Bilal Nashawi; Clara von Friedeburg; Maryam Saleh; Finlay Couser; Felicity Prestwood and Ben Vickers.

We would also like to recognise the following students who significantly exceeded their target grades and produced outstanding individual performances: Amelia Payton; Liam King; Josh Shaw; Amelia Watkin; Evie Clayton; Beth Shevill; Annabel Norris; Julia Panades-Pujol; Lily Darby; Rikin David; Adam Clark; Rose Sutton; Theo Morrison; Ben Wendt and Oliver Ackroyd.

This year's results reflect strong achievement across a wide range of subjects, with impressive performances at the very highest grades and continued success across our vocational qualifications. These outcomes demonstrate the ambition of our students and the dedication of our teaching and support staff.

This year saw an overall pass rate 9 – 4 (or equivalent) of 71%, with the numbers of Grade 9s (or equivalent) to 105 which represents a significant achievement in gaining the most difficult grades to achieve, placing those students in the top 5% of their respective subjects.

Katie Ewing, Head of Year 11 said, “I am delighted for the students. They have worked so hard to achieve these grades. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and I am so proud of their achievements.” Headteacher, Grant Edgar added, “I echo Miss Ewing’s thoughts and I am so pleased that so many of the students are excited for their future. Well done everybody!”

As students now look towards the next stage of their journey, be it employment, apprenticeship, college or Sixth Form, we are pleased that many have chosen to continue their studies in Year 12 at William Farr. We look forward to welcoming record numbers of students into our Sixth Form in September and supporting them as they take on new opportunities and challenges.
