William Farr is today delighted to announce strong A level results, with a number of students achieving top grades and many outperforming their predicted targets. The results reflect sustained commitment from students and staff across two challenging years of study.

Overall performance was strong across the board, with several outstanding individual achievements. Top performers include Leanne Oborne (Maths A, Physics A, Product Design A, EPQ A), Lola Bibby (Biology A*, English Literature A*, Chemistry A, EPQ A) and Juliet Wright (Art A, English Literature A, French A, EPQ B). Other notable results were recorded by Daniel Dotsov (Business A, Mathematics A, Spanish A — sat in Year 12 — Computer Studies B), Abigail Philipson (Art A, Graphics A, Film Studies B, EPQ A), Alfie Gilchrist (Art A, Graphics A, Photography B, EPQ A), Amelia Cullen (English Literature A, History A, Psychology A, EPQ A) and Ben Payne (French A*, History A*, Music B, EPQ B).

Further strong performances included George Farrow (Business A, Mathematics A, Product Design A, EPQ B) and Ruby Dawson (Business A, Geography A*, Biology B, EPQ B). The school also extends special congratulations to students who exceeded their target grades significantly: Louis Griffin George Farrow, Daniel Dotsov, Madeleine Smirthwaite, Ella Hickey, Amelia Cullen, Leo Braddish, George Horner, Juliet Wright and Leanne Oborne.

Lily Bratty has gained a prestigious Degree Apprenticeship with Dynex. Three students secured places at Oxford & Cambridge: Lola Bibby and Leo Braddish at Oxford and Ben Payne at Cambridge. The range of destinations for our students range from the universities of Lincoln, Newcastle, Loughborough, Liverpool, Hull, Sheffield, Royal Holloway, Sheffield Hallam, York, Leeds and Northumbria, to the services with the RAF and Royal Marines to employment & training in fields as diverse as orthodontics, sport & fitness and journalism. Proof that the school’s vision of engaging in life in all its fullness is as strong as ever.

It is too easy to criticise young people today but our students have shown real resilience over the course of a school career blighted by Covid.
